Liverpool's Star Offers Regret to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah expressed regret to the group of players after the controversy from his recent interview.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following voicing frustrations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
Their results have remained strong in the games following the interview fallout. He feels the outburst were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, getting results and starting to win games.”
