White House Accused of Attack on Free Speech Following UK Reporter Held

The leading Islamic civil liberties association has alleged the current leadership of a “blatant affront to freedom of expression” following national border officials detained British journalist Sami Hamdi this past Sunday.

The organization stated that Hamdi was held at San Francisco International airport facility because of speaking out against the Israeli continuing military campaign in Gaza. He is among a number of individuals who have been detained and deported by immigration enforcement for expressing pro-Palestine opinions.

DHS officials said that Hamdi’s visa had been canceled, and that he was in custody “facing expulsion.”

Immigration Authorities Detains British Journalist After Criticism of Israel

UK reporter Sami Hamdi was reportedly taken into custody Sunday by ICE agents at San Francisco international airport, and the organization claims that the detention is apparent punishment for the Islamic commentator’s comments of Israel while visiting the US.

Comments from the group said it was “a clear attack to freedom of expression” to arrest Hamdi for condemning the Israeli ongoing military operations in the Gaza region while he engaged on a lecture series. A government representative stated in a separate announcement that Hamdi is slated for removal.
